Spurgeon Senior Community offers independent living designed for ages 55+ who want to live where they can be in charge of their own lives to pursue a fulfilling and enjoyable lifestyle, without all of the responsibilities of homeownership.
Situated along the scenic Raccoon River Valley Recreation Trail, our campus offers a truly exceptional setting that stands out from others in Iowa; rural, yet close to the Des Moines metro area hospitals and other urban conveniences. Additionally, our comprehensive range of services and community amenities are thoughtfully designed to cater to residents’ evolving needs and enhance their lives.
With a variety of townhomes and apartments, our community offers an attractive and comfortable living environment. We embrace a strong sense of community and our independent living options provide a balance between socializing and privacy, encouraging folks to form meaningful relationships and maintain their autonomy.

Iona Wise Apartments
Spurgeon Senior Community offers a variety of one and two-bedroom townhomes, providing an ideal blend of spaciousness and low-maintenance living. These townhomes are thoughtfully designed to offer the perfect balance between ample space and easy upkeep.
Currently, there are 19 homes in our community with plans to build additional townhomes beginning in the summer of 2023. These new townhomes will also include a three-bedroom option. Our beautiful grounds with mature trees and farmland views are a wonderful place to call home!

- Rehabilitative Services: Licensed therapists from RehabVisions provide physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. Fees for these services are billed to your insurance provider.
- Transportation: Wheelchair-accessible vans are available by appointment for a fee.
Spurgeon Senior Community offers six apartments in the Iona Wise section of our campus. From studio to two-bedroom floorplans, we offer everything our residents need, including a nutritious and seasonal noon meal served in our attractive dining area.
